Step 1: Behavior
Most barriers to a good relationship with your horse are the result of bad behavior. Many times we misunderstand the causes of bad behavior. The cause is quite often found in the physical condition of the horse as it relates to general health, fitness and proper fit of the tack you use. Horses communicate their discomfort or pain differently than we do. In many cases pain issues are discovered and mitigated with the use of Myofascial Release, Reiki and Somatic Release therapies, which in turn can have a profound soothing effect and positive influence on the horse’s behaviors.
Myofascial Release is a series of gentle moves performed in predetermined patterns following the meridian lines of the horse’s body with a focus on locating and treating injured muscles or tendons.
Through the use of complimentary modalities such as Reiki and Somatic Release the horse is able to naturally respond to these muscle soothing treatments without the use of drugs - much like a human athlete rests and restores musculature through the use of massage or meditation
