About Cheryl

Cheryl’s Philosophy:

Cheryl’s mission is to connect horse and rider by providing the rider with the knowledge, skills and equipment to promote and protect her horse’s wellness, help the horse/rider team live up to their highest potential, and enjoy getting there. Cheryl’s methods work to establish a mutually respectful and willing partnership between horse and rider. This philosophy works on any breed of horse and for any type of riding.

“While my breeding, showing and judging career has focused on the easy gaited Foxtrotter, I appreciate the beauty and talent of every breed in the diverse and wonderful world of horses, and after all, horse sense is horse sense. My goal is to support your horse/rider team in whatever way I can and to help you maintain a healthy, willing partner in your equestrian performance and pleasure activities.”

Cheryl’s Qualifications:

Cheryl is certified in the Equine Touch Myofascial Release technique and has added techniques from the Somatic Release and Reiki disciplines to her body work on horses and dogs. She has owned, bred and trained Missouri Foxtrotters for decades and is a licensed Missouri Foxtrotter judge.
Her depth of experience as a judge, breeder and trainer of gaited horses allows her to evaluate, for any horse, whether it is moving the way its conformation says it should, or whether some physical or mental problem is impeding its potential. Similarly, her years of timing the footfalls of gaited horses have equipped her to discern anomalies in the footfalls of any horse which may indicate incipient lameness which could be affecting a horse’s performance or behavior.

Taken together, her experience in equine touch therapy, in breeding and judging horses gives Cheryl a unique perspective on the holistic—physical, mental and emotional—wellness of any horse.
Cheryl continues to own, train and judge Foxtrotters, and for those who own gaited horses or are interested in them, Cheryl is an unparalleled resource.
